Our Most Fascinating Cases of the Year

From finding people, finding assets and finding what people don’t want us to know, here are some of the most interesting ways we helped our clients in 2025.

Confidence Man Identified and Located

Our client worked virtually with his business partner for years, yet they never met in person. The partner declined to pay nearly $1 million, leaving our client needing to know his identity and his location in the United States. Combining facial recognition technology with old-school research and surveillance, we identified and located the partner. Our client was able to start collecting his rightful funds.

A Tale of Debt and Heartbreak

Our client’s mother was married to a man whom our client did not trust. What was his past? We uncovered a trail of debt, fraud allegations, bankruptcy filings, a prison sentence, and a pattern involving multiple women who described strikingly similar experiences of heartbreak. The man routinely targeted slightly older, kind-hearted women, gaining their trust before conning them out of money. After reviewing our report, the client’s mother ended the relationship.

A Client Learns that Her Son is Alive

A family contacted us seeking answers about a son who had left the Midwest for the West Coast and hadn’t been seen in over a decade. They wanted to know if he was alive. All we had was a name and a dormant Facebook profile. By analysing the profile’s contacts, we spoke with individuals who revealed that the man had abandoned his phone and taken to backpacking with a countercultural group before eventually breaking away from them. We traced his movements and confirmed his location through a social media post featuring him. Our client then knew he was alive.

The Homeless Man with the Silver Tongue

A brilliant and well-liked man stopped taking his medication and vanished onto the streets of Oakland, California, leaving his family worried for his wellbeing. Finding the right public records and speaking with people, we narrowed down his possible location and found him living in a homeless encampment. His parents were finally able to speak with him.

The Business Savvy Public Figure Who Couldn’t Run a Business

Our client did not want to work with a certain high-profile executive. The executive had built their reputation on financial acumen and business knowhow. A deep dive into financial disclosure forms revealed that several businesses they had run, had actually operated in the red for years, and one had been in severe distress before a miracle donation from a wealthy benefactor. Using our findings, the executive was removed from our client’s entity.

The Queen of Nuisance Litigation

Our client was being sued by an employee making outlandish and inflammatory claims. We learned that the same person had filed dozens of similar cases in the past, accusing coworkers and family members of bizarre schemes. Her attorneys often asked to be removed as her representatives, citing her difficult personality and repeated failures to respond to their requests for information. Our client used all of this to show her current case had no credibility.

A Confidence Man Faces Justice

Our client aimed to serve a man accused in multiple jurisdictions of defrauding various people of millions of dollars. His current location was unclear. While preparing to surveil a possible new residence for him, we found his former employee revealed that he had just been sent to prison for fraud in a state unconnected to him. We located him and our client was able to start the legal process.

A Billionaire Crash Pad Hunt

A high net worth subject needed to be found, but where in the world was he? While looking for him, we identified multiple properties he owned. Which of his party pads was he actively using? Although he barely maintained an online presence, an enthusiastic partygoer had publicly shared photos from one of his residences on Instagram. Interior details visible in her posts matched real estate listings we uncovered. Using our research, our client knew where to find him.
